Going Global

“Never hesitate to go far away, beyond all seas, all frontiers, all countries, all beliefs.”
– Amin Maalouf

Celebrating October

October saw a lot of kiwis traveling the world, whether it was for the Rugby World Cup or just to make the most of some of the fabulous October weather, before coming home to get ready for what will hopefully be a good old fashioned kiwi summer.  We are looking forward to sharing that Kiwi summer with our overseas visitors and take a look at some of the new U.S. flights to New Zealand that have been in the news over the last month.

Auckland Airport has said capacity with North America this summer will be up 26% on pre-pandemic flights, as they welcomed two new flights from Los Angeles on 30 October. Delta Air Lines arrived in New Zealand for the first time in its near-100-year history. The airline will fly daily during summer  through to March.  United Airlines’ first LAX to AKL was the other new flight we welcomed, with up to 12 flights a week scheduled. Delta Air Lines Managing Director of International and Specialty Sales said New was “number one on the wish list” for a large number of Americans.

Qantas has also stepped up the frequency of its Auckland-New York service to four times a week, and Air New Zealand will do the same between December and mid-January.

Restaurant Recommendation – Tok Tok

There's not a lot of fanfare about this Asian fusion corner restaurant in Takapuna, it simply lets its menu speak for itself. A fantastic spot for groups with a relaxed vibe. We invite you to take a look through and see if anyone can come out not loving at least a few dishes on the menu. Some of our favourites include the Popping Prawns with curry leaves, chilli, almonds and yuzu mayo, the Ruakaka Kingfish Sashimi, the sweet’n’sour pork belly and the green papaya salad.
